Wellington House is an elegant home dating back in parts to 1660; it was a former rectory, which in time became a school run by Mr & Mrs Reeder Snr.
The Nursing Home was established in 1987 and has recently been refurbished by the Reeder family to a very high standard. New equipment of the latest designs has been brought into the home to enhance the high standards of care offered at Wellington House. Other new additions to the home include a ground floor extension, purpose built assisted bathroom and toilet facilities, technically advanced nurse call and fire detection systems.
We are able to offer bedrooms which will suit most tastes and needs, whether it be a single ensuite, single with garden views or shared rooms for company or couples, all our rooms are designed to be different in order to maximise the residents choice, and of course residents are welcome to bring their own personal items to further enhance their rooms. A patio area at the rear of the house has some rooms enjoying the added facilities of a decking ground floor balcony, which is wheelchair accessible.
The Home is set in mature spacious gardens in a quiet part of Stowmarket, yet is close to all amenities including the town centre. Landscaped grounds with mature trees, shrubs, plants and plenty of colours add to the warm homely feeling at Wellington House. There are also ample parking facilities for all visitors. The Home has many original features throughout, which have been embraced and enhanced through careful and individual colour selections in each room, this together with large lounge and dining room combine to produce an ambience of homeliness and relaxation.
