A Unique Home in a Unique Setting

Wellington House

In Wellington House all residents are offered accommodation according to their own requirements. This may be a single room with ensuite facilities, a single room with communal facilities or a shared room with communal facilities. However all rooms are provided with a baseline of facilities, furniture and equipment. These are:

1. Well decorated in a domestic style.
2. Set out in such a way as to avoid an institutional feel or atmosphere.
3. Natural lighting and ventilation.
4. Ground Floor rooms are accessible to residents with disabilities or wheelchair
users.
5. First Floor rooms are accessible to residents with other mobility / disability
problems.
Residents who wish to have their own furniture and possessions are encouraged to do so. The room is their own personal living space and as such making it their own is very important to their settling in and enjoyment of the room.
Larger items, such as beds, wardrobes, chests of drawers, desks etc, will need to be assessed for suitability before being brought into the home. The Management will be only to pleased to discuss this matter with any resident or relative. All personal property belonging to a resident will be recorded and a copy kept in the relevant care plan for inspection.
